Welcome to Infostitch.com

Infostitch.com is a place for anyone interested in Needlepoint.
It is intended as a resource site with book reviews, background materials on designers and links to their sites, descriptions of suppliers of kits and materials as well as a searchable database of designs (see Kits and Charts section).

What's New

I recently stumbled on a great line of zodiac cushions by a company called Fat Quarter Designs.  The kits contain unprinted 12-count Zweigart interlock, DMC tapestry wool and clear color charts.  There is room to personalize the cushion by adding name and date and several styles of letters are provided.  The designs are quite intricate, as you can see - thus the charts.

They are available online from www.sewinspiring.co.uk

Karen Dixon of Millennia Designs has a new line of Shaker Patchwork cushions.  The entire line can be viewed at: www.millennia-designs.com  Here are a few examples:

This website is in serious need of updating.  So that's the current project and I'll keep you posted as to what sections have been revised.

Kits

When I think of Cleopatra's Needle, I think of flower and fruit designs much like those shown at right. Their extensive line includes cushions, eyeglass cases and pincushions in these textile like designs.

Recently, I've been seeing newer designs featured in stitching magazines. The Cat Cushions by Katrin Eagle (available in both 14 and 16 inch square) are popping up frequently as are the Boats and Balloons series by Chas Jacobs.  Below are a few examples.

The entire line can be viewed at: http://www.cleopatrasneedle.co.uk/

Current Projects

I'm currently working on reducing (preferably eliminating) my stash of kits.  This is Parrots at a Fountain by Karen Dixon of Millennium Designs.  I like this design and the colors consist of 4 blues, 3 greens and the cream background. I bought mine at Liberty's in London but they are available online at: www.millennia-designs.com

This Keyboard kit is by Permin of Copenhagen.  I bought my online at: www.spinningjenny.co.uk

I've finished Rousseau Jungle by Margaret Murton.  I'm on a mission these days and won't start a project until I have a home for it.  This one, I'm keeping for myself.

Here are the finished Klimt Blue and the Chocolate Klimt.  These are wonderful kits and a pleasure to stitch.  The designs are quite powerful and I won't display them so close together - perhaps in different chairs or at different ends of a sofa.
